The Lost Boys of Yantarni is the story of the quirky few, stubborn enough to live and work on one of the most rugged and formidable outreaches of the Alaska Peninsula - a Neverland practically unknown to the angling world. The allure? – giant, dime bright, Coho Salmon that charge into these mile-long rivers with a seek-and-destroy mentality.
Mother Nature still keeps secrets here, never really showing her hand. For the guys running the place, outwitting her is a daily battle. Severe weather, four-legged locals, and never-ending chores stack the odds against them.
A made for TV episode filmed at Alaska Sportsman's Lodge on the Kvichak. It's not my favorite music selection, but there is some worthy footage from a world class lodge in Bristol Bay.
Fly-out Alaska flyfishing for big Rainbows and Salmon at it's best Hepler photography, Scott Hepler, filmed and edited flyfishing in Alaska for The American Outdoorsman TV. Lots of Bears and fishing at Alaska's premier fly out lodge, Alaska's Sportsman Lodge in the Katmai National Park on the Kenai peninsula.
Catch Magazine once again delivers another issue of inspiring fly fishing images. Not only does the online journal capture amazing fish shots, but it peers deeply into the culture of fly fishing and adventure travel. This is the first issue that requires a subscription fee, but I will testify that it is well worth the $2. The T-Motion Theater video "Wade Andros" by Todd Moen was especially excellent.
