Fishing Program

Alaska Trophy Adventures has top-notch fishing guides and offers unspoiled beauty and prime riverfront fishing. Located in the Bristol Bay region of Katmai National Park, Alaska Trophy Adventures is a short 25 minute float plane flight from King Salmon, AK. Sitting on the famous Alagnak River, Alaska Trophy Adventures is right in the center of excellent fly fishing for Alaska rainbow trout, 5 species of pacific salmon, Arctic Char, Grayling, and more native Alaska species. The lodge fishing program has many many miles of river to fish, each day offering a different experience for their guests. Alaska Trophy Adventures offers deluxe fly fishing camps, bear viewing or float-trips on the Alagnak, Nonvianuk, And Kukaklek Rivers.

Food & Beverage

Breakfast and dinner are taken in the main lodge where guides are welcomed to dine with guests after a long day on the water. Most days' lunches are prepared and brought on the water for a stream-side lunch but some days in the height of the salmon run your guide will prepare your fresh caught salmon over an open fire.

Lodge Details

Alaska Trophy Adventures fishing lodge on the Alagnak River accommodates 20 - 24 guests comfortably with groups of 2-4 guests having their own cabins. There are a total of 4 ensuite cabins and 3 shared bath cabins available. The main lodge includes a dining room and recreation area complete with television and phone service. Modern amenities that include hot showers and flush toilets make the lodge feel like home. The lodge sits on 160 acres with 3800 feet of private riverfront on the National Wild & Scenic Alagnak River. The area allows you to experience the true Alaska fishing lodge atmosphere without the crowds.

For those desiring a more private feel they also have the Swiss Chalet available that can be booked exclusively. With a minimum occupancy of 6 and a maximum of 8 it is perfect for families, groups of friends, or coorporate gatherings.

Sample Itinerary

6-Days of Fishing / 7-Nights Accommodations 
  • Sunday
    Arrive to King Salmon, Alaska the day prior to your trip start date. Fly to Alaska Trophy Adventures in the morning via air taxi arranged in advance. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by Alaska Trophy Adventures staff and checked into your cabin. The day will conclude with an orientation dinner where you will learn about the fishing program and can make plans with the ATAL guides and staff for a fun week of fishing.  
  • Monday - Sunday
    6 days of fully guided fishing. Fish the a different stretch of water everyday target various species of salmon and/or rainbow trout and char. Everyday is a new experience with the variety and flexibility Alaska Trophy Adventures can offer. Conclude each day with a cocktail and a hearty meal in the main lodge. Tell fish stories and enjoy the company of other guests.  
  • Sunday
    Departure day. Flights leave Alaska Trophy Adventures in the morning. Enjoy a farewell breakfast before staff escort you to the runway for your pre-arranged air taxi flight back to King Salmon. We encourage guests to book late afternoon flights departing King Salmon for Anchorage.

Travel Details

How to get there

After booking your flight to Anchorage (ANC) you will need to arrange a flight from Anchorage to King Salmon (AKN). Only 2 airlines fly to King Salmon daily: Alaska Airlines and Pen Air. All guests are requested to be at the King Salmon airport by 9:00 am on the day they are scheduled to start their week at ATAL. This means that you will need to either arrive on the first flight in the morning, or arrive the night before and stay overnight in King Salmon at a local hotel.

Flights to ATAL start in the morning around 10:00 AM from King Salmon. A friendly local air charter service handles all flights to Alaska Trophy Adventures. The fee is $375 per person for your round-trip journey between King Salmon and the lodge.

On their departure day we strongly encourage that ATAL guests schedule a late afternoon flight out of King Salmon to Anchorage in order not to miss your connecting flights. Weather can occasionally cause delays in Alaska.
